With a career spanning several decades, Graham’s journey with SQL Server commenced during the era of SQL Server 2000, and since then, he has been dedicated to architecting and supporting high-performance, high-availability enterprise solutions at scale.
Throughout his professional career, Graham has navigated diverse environments, including both on-premise and cloud deployments, addressing challenges in OLTP, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and reporting domains. His proficiency lies in harnessing cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices to ensure organisations maximise the value of their data assets.
Beyond his technical prowess, Graham is deeply passionate about DataOps – the integration of data engineering, integration, and quality assurance methodologies. He derives immense satisfaction from introducing individuals to DataOps principles and equipping them with the necessary tools to streamline their data workflows effectively. Graham is the driving force & visionary behind Tier Zero. He has 20+ years of experience working as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA).
Since the release of SQL Server 2000 he has focussed on building & managing high performance, enterprise solutions at scale.
As a former Microsoft Certfied Trainer, Graham remains committed to learning new technology.
Graham closely follows the latest developments within Microsoft Fabric, DevOps/DataOps, SQLServer and the Data Science domains.
He is also a Microsoft Certified Power BI Analyst and Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
His proficiency lies in harnessing cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices to ensure organisations maximise the value of their data assets.
In addition to his professional commitments, Graham is committed to mentorship, offering guidance and support to individuals seeking to advance their careers.
While his availability for mentoring is limited, Graham remains dedicated to assisting those eager to grow professionally, offering assistance in areas ranging from career progression to refining CVs and interview skills.
